Heledd Fychan sent a message of support to Wales’ women’s football team as they head to Switzerland for their first major international tournament.
from 2 July to 27 July, the team will compete in the UEFA Women’s Euro tournament, facing 16 teams across eight different venues in Switzerland. The tournament marks a historic milestone as Wales’ women take to the international stage for the first time.
Plaid Cymru spokesperson for sport Heledd Fychan MS said,
"On behalf of Plaid Cymru, I wish the Wales women's team the very best of luck as they represent our nation in their first ever major tournament.
“This historic moment is a testament to the team’s incredible determination, and to the growing strength of women’s football in Wales. It shows what can be achieved when talent is nurtured and ambition backed - something Plaid Cymru believes should be at the heart of our national vision.
“As they wear the red dragon with pride, they carry the hopes of a confident, ambitious Wales ready to take its place on the world stage.
