Young People Gain Insight into Politics Through Work Experience with Heledd Fychan MS

This week, myself and my team have been joined by two young people on work experience from Ysgol Plas Mawr. Hana and Seren have been helping the team with a variety of tasks and joining me on visits to meet with constituents. Thank you both for your hard work. I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!

When asked why they wanted to do work experience, Hana and Seren responded.

Hana: "I was keen to come do work experience with Heledd as I was interested in learning more about Politics and wanted to see the kind of things that goes on day to day as a Member of the Senedd. I have really appreciated the schedule of varied activities the staff have put together which has made the experience incredibly enjoyable."

Seren: "I have enjoyed the experience of seeing the more practical side of the political world, and also the opportunity to go on visits to fascinating organisations, such as a sustainable farm in Pontyclun. This work experience has really opened my eyes to the little things that happen in our community that is truly making a positive difference.

As well as this, I've had the opportunity to see all the work that goes on behind the scenes, beyond what we see in the media, which I think has been very valuable!"
