I was pleased to see the Bus Services (Wales) Act passed at the Senedd last week. I am particularly pleased Plaid Cymru was able to work with the Welsh Government to ensure that education is recognised as a priority on the face of the Act, and this creates a duty to consider access to education, including higher education, when planning the bus network.
I have long campaigned for better bus services to schools in my region and continues to be a significant barrier for many of my constituents. It is hoped that this bill and our work in the Petitions Committee will bring universally better bus services for our children and students in the coming years.
