Every month my community engagement team create a community resource to share with community groups and local organisations to find grant information, upcoming opportunities, training and events that might be of interest to many of you.

Grants – With upcoming Deadlines 

 

Improving access to food in the Vale of Glamorgan: Up to £2,500 revenue and £5,000 capital grant funding is available to assist groups and organisations helping to tackle food insecurity, improve access to healthy affordable food and contribute to wider community resilience in the Vale of Glamorgan. More is available for innovative proposals. Deadline Sunday 14th July. The Henry Smith Charity Holiday grants for children helps provide access to recreational trips or holidays for groups of children who experience disadvantage or who have disabilities. It is heavily subscribed and the maximum grant is £2750. You must apply at least 6 weeks before the holiday. SWEF - enterprise and business grants of up to £2,000 to young entrepreneurs in Wales aged18-30. SWEF provides the opportunity to join a network of peers who are also in the early stage of starting Deadline 12th July. Asda Foundation Investing in Spaces and Places Grant: Charities and not-for-profit organisations that benefit local people can apply for £10k-£25k grants to fix, repair or develop a community building or space. Rosa’s Stand With Us Fund supports organisations to become stronger and more effective; better meeting the needs of women and girls and influencing wider change for all women and girls across the UK. Organisations can apply for up to £25,000 to fund areas related to organisational development, including strategy, governance, leadership, having a stronger voice within the women’s movement, building alliances, fundraising, impact, systems and processes. The Fore Fund offers unrestricted grants to help small charities and social enterprises grow, strengthen, and become more efficient or resilient with grants up to £30,000 of unrestricted funding spread over 1 to 3 years and access to free, highly skilled support provided by experienced professionals, a programme of workshops and access to peer networking opportunities. The Ironmongers’ Company provides grants from a few hundred pounds up to around £10,000 to registered charities for projects that provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people under 25 years.  Projects must deliver educational benefits including Special Educational Needs, or foster social, emotional or life skills.  Closing date: 31st July 2024.for more information go to: https://www.ironmongers.org/helping-charitable-organisations 

 

Cronfa Rhwydwaith Cymdogaeth / Neighbourhood Network Fund

The Cardiff Community Endowment Fund aims to provide educational bursaries of up to £500 per year for up to 3 years for individuals in need for support with course fees (where assistance is not otherwise available) and grants towards the costs of course materials and activities. The Pen-Y-Cymoedd Community Wind Farm Micro Fund has two rounds per year in June & December. Round 16 opens on 1st June 2024 and closes in mid-August. For more information please visit https://penycymoeddcic.cymru/the-micro-fund/ 

 

Cross Country Customer and Communities Improvement Fund for community projects that deliver tangible social and environmental benefits; including biodiversity,  community outreach and removing barriers to rail travel in Wales along the main line from Cardiff towards Chepstow & Bristol. The fund is available in three periods through the year and the next deadline is 23 Awst. For more information go to: Lloyds Bank Foundation - Deaf and Disabled people's organisations A programme for small and local charities and CICs that are led by and working with Deaf and Disabled people who are experiencing poverty. Organisations can apply for a three-year unrestricted grant of £75,000. William and Jane Morris Church Conservation Grants Awards £500-£5,000 to churches, chapels and other places of worship in the United Kingdom for the conservation of decorative features and monuments. Kelly Family Charitable Trust: Grants of up to £5000 for charities working in fields including early intervention, mediation, prison services and services for families affected by sexual abuse, physical abuse and domestic violence, among others. Postcode Community Trust supports smaller charities and good causes in Wales to make a difference to their community for the benefit of people and planet. Round 3: 26th August 9am to 2nd September 12 noon. For more information visit https://www.postcodecommunitytrust.org.uk/apply-for-a-grant 

 

The Grocers’ Charity provides one-off grants of up to £5,000 in a wide range of priority areas for community benefit. Deadlines for EOI’s in 2024/5 are: 6th Sep & 10th Jan. For more information https://grocershall.co.uk/the-charity/apply-for-a-grant 

 

Ashley Family Foundation Grants of £500 – £10,000 for charities, unincorporated organisations and community groups with a constitution or terms of reference and a charitable purpose. Next deadline 6th of Sept. Applications accepted all year round and awards are made three times per year. The Hedley Foundation Limited One-off grants Up to £5,000 available to smaller UK registered charities working with the elderly, people with a mental or physical disability, those who are terminally ill, young people and social welfare projects, including those that benefit carers, the homeless and ex-offenders. Nant-y-Gwyddon Wind Turbine Community Fund: Up to £500 grants for the fund catchment area of Pentre, Treorchy, Tonypandy, Ferndale, Tylorstown, Ynyshir and Maerdy.  Two bidding rounds annually with deadlines of 31st March and 31st October. Foyle Foundation - Small Grants Scheme: Up to £10,000 grants to support smaller charities registered and operating in the United Kingdom, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. The Dickie Bird Foundation provides grants for disadvantaged children for sport equipment and sports clothing. The Dickie Bird Foundation considers grants for all recognised sports. https://thedickiebirdfoundation.co.uk/ 

 

The Hospital Saturday Fund provides grants for medical projects, care, research or support of medical training and for individuals can provide help with the purchase of specialised equipment or forms of treatment For more information go to: https://hospitalsaturdayfund.org/ 

 

National Churches Trust Cherish project provide grants to churches, chapel or meeting house of between £500 and £10,000 for maintenance, urgent repair work or project development. Proud to Pitch is an initiative from Greene King IPA, paying up to £4,000 in grants to grassroots and community sports clubs across the United Kingdom for sports focussed projects that positively impact their club and/or the local community e.g. renovations, training & new equipment The fund is open to applications all year round.
