Community resource November

Every month my community engagement team create a community resource to share with community groups and local organisations to find grant information, upcoming opportunities, training and events that might be of interest to many of you.

Grants – With upcoming Deadlines 

 

Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation aims to improve the wellbeing, welfare and education of children and adults in communities throughout the UK by making donations of up to £6,000 to registered charities. The Together for Good Initiative will make 5 x £1000 donations in October for good causes to spend on whatever they need most to support voluntary groups, charities, and CICs who work tirelessly to support our communities. Forrester Family Trust Small grants of up to £10,000 are available to registered charities in England and Wales with an annual turnover of less than £250,000 who rely on volunteer support and make an impact in their communities. Nant-y-Gwyddon Wind Turbine Community Fund: Up to £500 grants for the fund catchment area of Pentre, Treorchy, Tonypandy, Ferndale, Tylorstown, Ynyshir and Maerdy.  Two bidding rounds annually with deadlines of 31st March and 31st October. Magdalen Hospital Trust supports small community groups with an element of trained volunteers and self-help who are carrying out practical work in frontline situations. One-off grants, normally for between £200 and £3,000, are available to small UK registered charities with an annual income of under £150,000. Deadline: 31 Octo. National Grid Electricity Distribution Community Matters Fund: Registered charities or non-profit companies ltd by guarantee could apply for up to £5,000 to support their efforts tackling fuel poverty, while unregistered constituted community organisations can apply for grants of up to £2,000. Supported activities include: supplying warm packs or energy efficiency measures, home visits to help people warm their homes more cost effectively & efficiently, running a warm space in a community building, improving the energy efficiency of that building. Road Safety Trust - Large Grants: The theme for this round is ‘Inequalities in Road Safety’. UK based organisations, public and professional associations, registered charities and university departments in the United Kingdom may apply for up to £300,000. Asda Foundation - Cost of Living Grant provides up to £2000 for groups whose main activities are supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our society by providing them with the essentials, or simply providing a safe warm and welcoming space for those struggling to heat their homes during the winter. Teacher Development Fund support teachers to develop arts-based approaches which create equitable classrooms where all children learn and thrive. Up to £165,000 is available per application. Either a primary school or an arts/cultural organisation may be the lead applicant. Cash4Clubs Small grants up to £2000 support local sports clubs with for community organisations working with adults from under-represented communities, delivering sport or physical activity for social purpose. Taf Ely Community Windfarm Fund provide grants of up to £500 for community groups to fund projects that show strong community involvement and help bring people and communities together. Data Protection Officer (DPO) Centre Charity and Community Fund Grants of up to £10,000 are available to enable UK charities, voluntary groups and not-for profits organisations to access DPO data protection advice and consultancy services. Tree Council Branching Out Fund supports schools, community groups and Tree Warden Networks to plant trees, hedges and orchards. Grants can be between £250 and £2,500. The projects must involve young people up to the age of 21. Deadline 1st December https://treecouncil.org.uk/grants-and-guidance/our-grants/ 

 

Comic Relief Organisational Growth Grant supports community led action bringing about positive, lasting social change with grants £20k - £35k, giving organisations the chance to make strategic changes that enhance their impact and increase resilience, e.g. by building on what is working well in relation to your organisation’s community activity, strengthening and measuring the impact of your core community led activity, developing new ways of working. The Fore Foundation provides charities with unrestricted grants of up to £30,000 for up to 3 years. Funding is for your organisation to grow, strengthen, become more efficient or resilient. Applicants set their own targets for the grant term with consultant support. No long application or monitoring forms and feedback is given to every applicant. The registration period for the Spring 2025 application round is Wed 4th Dec, to Wed 11th Dec. For more information go to: https://thefore.org/  

 

The Robert Clutterbuck Trust provides small grants, mostly for between £1,000 and £2,000, to registered charities in England and Wales with an annual turnover of under £1 million. The Trust is primarily concerned with the welfare of ex-service personnel and charities that have previously received a grant from the Trust. Deadline: 31 Dec http://clutterbucktrust.org.uk/ 

 

Home Instead Supporting Communities funds groups who support the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of ageing adults at home. Small grass roots organisations can apply for up to £500, small registered charities can apply for up to £1,500. Apply in January, April, July, or Oct. Foyle Foundation - Small Grants Scheme: Up to £10,000 grants to support smaller charities registered and operating in the United Kingdom, especially those working at grass roots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. The Allen Lane Foundation provides grants of up to £15,000 to small registered charities, voluntary groups, and charitable organisations for up to three years to projects which will make a lasting difference to people’s lives, reduce isolation, stigma and discrimination, and encourages or enables groups that experience marginalisation and/or discrimination to share in the life of the whole community. The Blakemore Foundation is a charitable trust .offers four types of grants: In kind donations - given in the form of food, drink or supplies from our Blakemore Retail SPAR or Philpotts stores Monetary donations - given to good causes up to the value of £200 Match fund donations - up to £200 for causes supported by employees of A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd Independent retail donations - Grants which allow SPAR retailers to apply for a donation for a good cause of their choice. The Cloth Workers Foundation is a UK-wide funder that offers capital grants to registered not-for-profits that support communities facing disadvantage and marginalisation. Grants are awarded towards capital projects, defined as: Buildings - purchase, construction, renovation or refurbishment Fittings, Fixtures, and Equipment - including office equipment, sports equipment, digital/audio visual equipment, software and websites Vehicles - including minibuses etc For more info go to https://www.clothworkersfoundation.org.uk/what-we-fund/ 

 

Principality Building Society’s Future Generations Fund provides community organisations with grants of up to £40,000 across Wales wide fund set up with the aim of having a positive impact on society and the lives of young people in Wales. The Weavers’ Company Benevolent Funds principal aim should be to support people in trouble, particularly young offenders and ex-offenders, as well as other disadvantaged young people. Preference is given to pump-priming new projects, especially those that are innovative and can serve as a model elsewhere. Small Grants up to £5,000 and the main grants programme is uncapped. Disability Grants produce an excellent monthly round up of highlights of grants & resources for anyone with a disability, caring for or working with disabled adults or children. Support for Individuals 

 

National Grid Electricity Distribution are encouraging customers who may require additional help and support to join our Priority Services Register (PSR). The PSR offers free support in a power cut to people who rely on electricity for medical equipment, those with long-term illness, people with disabilities, pensioners and parents or carers of children under 5, for example.  

 

SWEF: Enterprise and business grants have been created to support young entrepreneurs (aged 18-30) to invest in their business venture and/or support them to take their business to the next level.  Funding is available to support a broad range of business costs, providing that applicants can demonstrate how the expenditure will support the growth of their business.  Deadline
