Health Survey For Glyncoch Residents

Health Survey

Since becoming an elected Member of the Senedd 5 years ago I have met many people in Glyncoch.

The issue brought to my attention most often is Craig yr Hesg Quarry.

I have been working with the Glyncoch residents to try and get the quarry closed down.

The quarry were refused planning permission by the local authority on many grounds, and one of those was the potential impact on the health of local residents.

Unfortunately, Labour in the Senedd overturned RCT’s decision not to grant an extension and gave them full permission to carry on for another 30 years, bringing the quarry even closer to local residents.

To help the local residents in their campaign I have undertaken a health survey.

It is important to know how living close to the quarry affects their health and what impact it has on their day to day lives. I have distributed over a hundred and fifty paper copies of the questionnaire to those living closest to the quarry where dust is most prevalent.

The questionnaire asks people if the quarry has affected their health in any way, or even if they feel that it has. I intend to collate all the responses and create a report of the results.

The final report will be published and made available here.

You can access the questionnaire by following this link
