In a recent question to the Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Transport Ken Skates, Plaid Cymru Member of the Senedd for South Wales Central Heledd Fychan raised concerns about passenger safety, station cleanliness, and the availability of toilet facilities on the new fleet of South Wales Metro.
In response to MS Fychans Question, the Cabinet Secretary for Transport acknowledged the issues and committed to addressing them in upcoming discussions with Transport for Wales. He affirmed the importance of providing safe, clean stations and adequate toilet facilities, especially for women and disabled passengers.
Speaking in response to the Question MS Fychan said:
“Over the last few months, I have received a number of emails from constituents worried about the accessibility of the new fleet of trains on the south Wales Metro. I’m glad to get the commitment of the Cabinet Secretary to improve passenger safety and facilitates as its very much needed.”
“The South Wales metro will offer a great deal to our valley communities so it’s important that the Cabinet secretary listens to passenger concerns and ensure the South Wales Metro is safe, comfortable, and convenient service for all passengers.”
