Such an honour to attend the Kinship Care week event at the Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel today organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Kinship Support Group.
It was incredibly moving and inspirational.
The week is an opportunity to celebrate the crucial role kinship carers play in caring for children whose birth parents are unable to do so It’s also important to reflect on the impact this has on kinship carers, with 75% experiencing severe financial hardship. More must be done to support kinship families and the work of Kinship.
