Today I visited Bute Cottage Nursery School (Wednesday 3 November) after learning about the proposal from the council to amalgamate the school. This decision would see the school lose its independence and autonomy over learning.
During my visit, I saw first-hand the wonderful learning environment that has inspired generations of nursery children and compelled locals to launch a campaign to preserve the school.
The Save Bute Cottage Nursery campaign has already seen nearly 1,000 people sign a petition against the proposal to amalgamate the Nursery with Evenlode Primary School.
I strongly support their campaign to Save Bute Cottage, and hope the Vale of Glamorgan Council will re-think their proposals to amalgamate the school.
