Today marks 100 days since I was elected to be your Member of the Senedd for South Wales Central.
Looking back at the past few months, it is impossible to put into words how truly honoured I am to represent you.
In just this short time, I have enjoyed meeting so many people and getting stuck in and campaigning on the issues that really matter to our local communities.
Many of you have already shared with me the things that you’d like me to focus on in the Senedd.
As a result, I have met with local bus companies, pushing them to make the improvements, that are desperately needed to our local services.
I have continued to fight for justice for flood victims. Making their voices heard on the floor of the Chamber. Asking Welsh Government to give us the answers about what really happened last year so we can prevent it from happening again.
I have also been meeting with lots of local community groups and offering my support after hearing about many of the challenges they have been facing. Such as lack of support for Stroke survivors, difficulty accessing cancer care in RCT and business facing challenges recovering from lockdown restrictions.
In May, I was also chosen to be Plaid Cymru’s Spokesperson for Sports, Culture, and International Relations. During this time, I have been campaigning for equal opportunities in Sport for everyone across Wales. I have been meeting with many organisations and pushing on issues such as fair funding for our arts, heritage, and culture; a cultural strategy for Wales, greater support for grassroots sports and the reopening of ice rinks.
The next few years will be crucial for future generations and with food poverty at its highest in Wales and the Climate Crisis reaching a critical point. I will use my voice in the Senedd to stand up for you and our planet.
I am also pleased to share that I have now put my team of five together and we will be opening our regional office at 2 Highstreet in Pontypridd in September.
We can’t wait to welcome you but if you need to contact me about any issues in the meantime, please get in touch by emailing me at: [email protected]
