“We need to save lives now and agree to a Peoples Vaccine!”
Right now in Wales, it may feel that the end of the pandemic is in sight, but in some places in the world the pandemic is becoming even more deadly.
Whilst we were enjoying watching the euros in June, in Uganda, their national football stadium was being used as a field hospital to treat COVID patients.
The cases in the country also increased significantly, by 1,000 per cent in June, with only 4,000 people out of a population of 45 million having received two doses of the vaccine. This deadly lack of vaccines is a story that is being repeated across the world, namely in low-income countries.
Sub-standard bus services impacting our communities
I recently ran a survey about local bus services, after receiving a number of complaints from residents living in the wider Pontypridd area. Having previously raised these concerns in the Senedd, I wanted to find out more about how residents feel about the service and the impact poor services or a lack of service has been having on them.
74% of those that responded states that the service was both unreliable and not value for money, and shared the impact this is having on their lives.

Culture is Ordinary

This is a copy of an article first published in The Wales Arts Review - you can read it by clicking here.
Over the past year, most of us have found solace, comfort or inspiration from the arts and culture in one form or another.
It may have been binge-watching our favourite TV box sets or re-discovering a love for painting or writing. Or it may have been taking up a new hobby, such as sewing or learning to play an instrument when the restrictions were at their strictest. Doing something that brought us joy, at a time when there was such despair.
